Frequently asked questions about ballooning
Are hot air balloon flights safe?
They are adventurous, emotional and, above all, safe! The hot air balloon is the oldest way to fly. We guarantee cutting-edge materials, qualified personnel and compliance with rigorous aeronautical standards. All our balloons are certified and insuredas required by the National Civil Aviation Organisation (ENAC)..
Is itpossible to fly all the year round?
Of course. You can fly over vivid autumn colours or observe the nature awakening in the spring, feel fascinated by endless candid fields of snow or be mesmerised by the first rays of the summer sun. Contrary to what one might think hot air balloon flights are perfectly possible even in the winter: the burner will keep you warm.
How should I dress for a balloon ride?
Choose comfortable sports clothes. If possible, wear ankle boots or shoes that protect your feet well. We will take off early in the morning: make sure to have a windbreaker or a parka according to the season. High heels and fine clothes are not allowed. Dress for an outdoor sports activity or a hike.
Is it possible to fly all day long?
It depends on the location, season and weather conditions. One usually flies early in the morning or late in the afternoon: we take off immediately after dawn or 2 3 hours before the sunset.
How can I book a flight?
All our flights are custom-made. Please get in touch with us to explain your needs. We will respond as soon as possible with a proposal designed especially for you.
How much does it cost to go on a hot air balloon ride?
Prices depend on the operator, number of participants and location. We propose exclusive reserved and personalised flights in Piedmont, Umbria and Lombardy.
Let us know what you have in mind and we will get back to you with our best offer as soon as possible.
How many people will share our ride?
All our flights are exclusive and personalised: there will be only your pilot with you in the balloon. Our options range from 2 people flights to flights for groups of 10 accommodated in several balloons.
How much does a hot air balloon flight last?
The flight lasts about an hour but we advise allocating about 4 hours for the whole experience, considering the time for the setup, takeoff, landing and a final sharing moment.
Are takeoff and landing locations the same?
No, because we will follow the wind. Our destination is unknown and this is what makes the experience so exciting! The retrieve crew will follow us by land to the landing point where they will help us with all post-flight operations.
Is it possible to bring photo and video cameras?
Certainly: an experience like this is worth being immortalised. Ground personnel and the pilot will brief you on the safe use of such equipment.
Is it possible to smoke in the balloon?
Absolutely not. Smoking is forbidden both during the flight and at the setup stage for safety reasons.
The same applies to vaping.
I get dizzy. Can I fly in a balloon?
It depends: we have met passengers with a fear of heights but they managed to have fun and enjoy themselves. Please get in touch with us to work out the best solution for you.
Can children fly in a balloon?
For safety reasons, we do not take on board children under 9 years of age and/or below 1.40 mt.
I am pregnant: can I fly?
We do not take pregnant women on board to guarantee their safety.
I have a health condition, can I fly?
It depends on your condition. You must be able to hold on to the basket handles and stand on your feet unaided. Please contact us to discuss your specific situation.
